I came across this EP whilst shopping on Beatport on the w/end, and I really connected with it’s dark, warm, melodic beauty, very Kompakt Records sounding tracks. This EP was released almost a year ago. I’m sure I’ve heard these tracks in DJ sets experienced and/or downloaded, as they felt very familiar when I heard them as well.
I’m quite hooked on these tracks this week, many repeat listens on my iPod. I think I’ll have to buy this EP on vinyl as well. Ada (Michaela Dippel) is a female DJ/producer based in Cologne (home of Kompakt Records) in Germany.
I have to admit I’ve never really ‘got’ the Areal Records, and associated producer’s sounds before, there was always something that didn’t sit quite right with me. I know Sydney DJ’s Dave Choe and Noel ‘747’ Peters have been fans for a long time.

You heard them when I played them during our mix-up at your place after the Mayer/Bug weekend (was that when it was?). This is the only release on that label that has really connected with me also.

Jimmi James put me on to this label early on, but like you it didn’t quite do it for me. I think I have one record by Metope on the label and that’s it.
