Party! Party! Party! : July 2009 - October 2009

I don’t think I’ll be heading out to anything in July myself, staying in and saving $. I’ll be away in the USA in August. I would have loved to have seen Solomun, ahh well, should be seeing some great stuff in the USA, including Depeche Mode! I’m going to add on extra month to this one, it’s looking a little quiet compared to previous months.
Here are some club nights/events with international techno/minimal/deep-tech-house DJ/live acts coming up in Sydney…

15.08.09 : Thomas Schumacher @ Lost Baggage - The Cross
15.08.09 : Solomun, Isolee [Live], Arto Mwambe @ Berlin Sessions - Civic Hotel

So it looks like Sydney may miss out on Oxia and Audion/Matthew Dear, who are playing elsewhere around Australia in September. I’d love to see Matthew Dear do a live Audion set, not so keen on another DJ set from him. I saw Oxia do a DJ set in Barcelona in 2007, he was ok, nothing special.
So, checking the MySpace pages for Ben Klock and Marcel Dettmann I don’t see any Australia dates for the next few months. So looks like that rumoured tour is no longer happening.
There has been mention of Shed [Live], Reboot [Live], Luca Bacchetti, Nick Curly, Robert Dietz, Sascha Dive and Alex Smoke [Live], all playing here later this year, possibly at Lost Baggage, or LadyLux nights, but nothing confirmed yet as far as I can see.
I heard Steve Bug is no longer playing at the Lost Baggage 2nd Birthday in October now. I’d love to see him return to play a Mad Racket again, but guessing he may end up playing at Chinese Laundry once again. I may well see him in L.A at Compression, while I’m in the USA, woot!
Hey what’s happened to all the minimal/tech-house internationals playing at Kink @ Nevermind? Looking at the Kink and Nevermind sites, all I see is hype for their LocoDisco night. No doubt they had to change to more electro-house/bang-gang type sounds to keep the kids happy/coming in, and venue alive.
That’s all I have to report at the moment.
Party on!

Please note: I do my best to get accurate info, but dates, artists, venues can change etc.
Updates regularly as I hear more.
