Dave McCann : DAMC : TECHiONE : Bliss
I was born in 1971, so in 2006 that pushes me just over the mid 30’s mark. I grew up in Adelaide, and moved to Sydney in 1995 following the live band/music dream with a 6 piece hip-hop-funk-techno-rock band called ‘Bliss’.
All through my teenage years I spent most of my time messing around with electronics, computers, and electronic music equipment: effects units, synths, drum machines, guitars, multi-track tape recording. Growing up, my dads passion for music and his large collection of vinyl records and hi-fi equipment were a big inspiration.
In the mid to late 1980’s I was into a lot of Australian rock/pop music: INXS, Pseudo Echo, The Models, Boom Crash Opera, Noise Works, Crowded House, The Venetians, Flowers/Icehouse. I was also playing synths/keyboards in a live band called ‘Creatures Of Habbit’ with similar sounds. I was 17 when I played my first live pub/club gig with ‘Creaters Of Habbit’ at the Toucan in Adelaide.
Between 1988-1990 I got into more electronic sounds, dancing to DJs at the Toucan playing stuff like Soft Cell, Depeche Mode, Yazoo, Erasure, leading on to the new-beat, hip-house and acid-house sounds, D-Mob, Yazz etc. I was also discovering bands/groups like Public Enemy, Beastie Boys, Pop Will Eat It’s Self, Jesus Jones, Blur, Ride, Curve, My Bloody Valentine, Bomb The Bass.

How’s it going?
I am now looking after the programming for Pulse and wanted to check if you are still doing shows or if not, if you’d like to again.
Hit me back n we can discuss.
Cheers
