I can’t believe we’re already half way through this year. It’s actually worrying me, it feels like everything has just rushed me by, is it really almost the end of June?!?!<\/p>\n
It’s been ages since I’ve posted comments and thoughts about all the music\/club things that I’ve been out to, and the music I’ve heard and experienced. I’ve been out to a heap of things over the last 6 months, you can see them, by the red coloured events on my Party! Party! Party! posts.<\/p>\n
I have been keeping notes though, and lists of tracks spotted, and have a bunch of half written drafts all waiting to be edited and published. I plan to get these all out shortly, while I’m having a little burst of motivation for updating content on my blog.<\/p>\n
I hope these past music\/club\/event reflections posts don’t all come out sounding too negative and jaded though. To be honest I’ve not gotten much joy and inspiration out of the majority of the stuff I’ve been out to and heard, but it’s rare moments when I do, that keep me interested.<\/p>\n
I still have a huge passion for electronic dance music, listening to it almost every day. I’m always seeking out and buying new tracks, across (too) many styles: tech-house, deep-house, house, minimal, techno, even a little nu-disco, with the intensity varying with my mood of the time.<\/p>\n
I’m not really spending much time\/effort on DJing, mixing, or recording mixes though. I think I’m more addicted to the search for new music. I really only have a chance to mix on the w\/ends, and have had a lot of busy ones, and other ones where I felt like doing nothing at all.<\/p>\n
Waiting for the day… I keep waiting for spare time, energy, motivation and inspiration to all align, so I can record some more DJ mixes, but it never seems to happen. Is this what happens when you get old? It was all a lot easier to get together when I was younger that’s for sure.<\/p>\n
